Andy is back in Annapolis for an updated, better-than-ever Celestial Navigation workshop! Andy's been deep in the weeds building new celestial teaching tools based on our actual passage history with actual sights, and can't wait to use these in the classroom. It'll be the best celestial workshop we've ever done, hands down.
We'll kick off with an optional happy hour/meetup on Thursday April 29 from 1600-1900, then have class all day Friday and all day Saturday. Hang around Saturday night for a cookout/BBQ/hangout to talk sailing and make new friends.
BONUS: Sunday May 1, if you're still in town, there will be a FREE 'Bluewater Boat' seminar put on by our old colleagues at World Cruising Club, who run the ARC Rally. Andy will be presenting and the day will end with an Open House aboard FALKEN! Free to attend.
While there is hardly a logical argument for celestial as a backup to electronic nav, its part of sailing history, and as ocean sailors, we owe it to ourselves to at least have a general understanding of it, I say! Plus, it makes those long night watches that much more enjoyable when you know your place - physically and philosophically - in the universe.
