We're confident that an experience-based education model, backed by decades worth of knowledge from sailing around the world, is breaking the mold for sail training, and the most effective path to help you reach your sailing goals. Our collaboration this year aims to strengthen our communities of like minded folks, who are focused not only on learning, but having the time of their life doing it! Join us for a half-day interactive session during the Annapolis Boat Show to learn about The Sh*t That Matters Most!

Later that day, come join us for the annual ‘Sailor’s Social’ at J/World Annapolis! Tickets $20, includes free beer and all profits will be donated to Matt Rutherford & Nicole Trenholm’s Ocean Research Project.

Details

Join Mia, Andy, Blue & Brady for a fun and informative session on ocean sailing and offshore cruising that will attempt to distill down seemingly complicated concepts into actionable advice on the areas you should spend the majority of your time and effort focusing on. Andy & Mia will start with a session on ocean sailing, focusing on their “anticipate & adapt” model of seam’nship as it applies to weather, boat prep & mental prep. They’ll share insights gleaned from over 120,000 miles sailed on 59º North’s boats. Brady & Blue, from Cruiser’s Academy, will follow with their session on applying those fundamentals to liveaboard cruising, focusing on their top tips gleaned from nearly a decade sailing around the world with DELOS and now LINTIKA.

After a short break we’ll invite Brady, Blue, Mia and specials guests on stage for a panel discussion moderated by Andy on Offshore Cruising Essentials.

Throughout the day audience members will be able to submit questions through a special link for the event. After the panel we’ll take a select few questions and answer them from on stage, focusing on what you want to learn about offshore cruising. The link will be given at the start of the day, giving you a chance to submit one or many questions as they come up during the sessions.

Background

Andy, Mia, Brady and Blue’s first met in 2018 when the crew from S/V Delos were invited to spend three weeks onboard ISBJØRN, exploring Svalbard togehter. From this adventure, a docu-series was born but also a friendship and comradery based on shared values not only in life but also in teaching sailing. While their businesses are similar in many ways, they also differ and therefore compliment each other well. What could have easily become a rivalry for most, has instead morphed into an open-book relationship where all four entrepreneurs share info, insights and advice in our pursuit of spreading the love of sailing.
