Join ISBJØRN in Bergen for the Shetland Race across the North Sea. This is an offshore yacht race between Bergen and Lerwick which celebrates the heroic, maritime traffic during WWII when local sailors and fishermen smuggled agents and weapons across the North Sea to conduct secret, Allied operations inside of Nazi-occupied Norway. The race is sailed in two legs with a few days in between for exploring the Shetland Islands.

Join ISBJØRN in the town of Tórshavn, Faroe Islands and sail across the North Sea to her home port of Bergen, Norway! Shetland, Fair Isle and the Orkney Islands are all possible stopovers along the way providing us good options when planning our crossing and managing weather windows.

Join ISBJØRN in Lofoten for a proper offshore adventure crossing the Norwegian Sea to the Faroe Islands. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about weather routing and passage strategy, as finding the perfect window for the crossing will require some skill. The crossing will most likely be 5-6 days with the remaining time spent cruising and exploring Lofoten and/or the Faroe Islands on either end of the trip.

Join ISBJØRN in Svolvær in the magnificent Lofoten Archipelago! This trip will be an exploration adventure in the Lofoten Islands with a focus on sharpening sailing and cruising skills. This will not be an offshore passage, but rather a coastal cruise, in one of the richest cruising grounds in the world, where we'll likely stop every night, either at a dock or anchorage.

Expect beautiful snow-peaked scenery with whales, seabirds, cliffs, and pretty white beaches. There are many different routes we can take depending on the weather and our inclinations.

Join ISBJØRN for 59º North’s first Ski & Sail trip! The Lyngen Alps in the Norwegian Arctic offer some of the best skiing in the world. It is quite remote and is only accessible from the sea — meaning that you will most likely have the whole mountain to yourself! Starts and ends in Tromsø.

This will be a masterclass in weather routing and strategy, as it is hard to predict what the conditions will be like at this time of year.

This will be a delivery/shakedown-style cruise in unpredictable winter weather in the north, the real-thing. Therefore, stops on the route, timing of departures, etc will be more uncertain than our standard passages, and we’ll be testing out ISBJORN’s new systems after the refit. This is an excellent opportunity to really learn hands-on how to get a newly refit boat from point A to point B.
