FALKEN GETS A NAV STATION
Having sailed the boat this week, we realize we'd be foolish to go without a proper big nav station in the main salon of the boat. So Bob Perry came through as usual and designed us one! That will have downstream effects that we'll solve this way:
The forward 'wet locker' compartment will revert back to it's original design as a head for the forward crew cabin.
The aft crew will share the head on port, next to the salon.
We will no longer have a dedicated wet locker for the entire crew - instead, the two locker spaces immediately forward of the aft bunks that currently have shelving will be converted to hanging lockers. These are large enough to each have 4 sets of foulies and boots, so all crew will have dedicated foulie space now, either side of the companionway.
If you look at the profile view facing forward, you'll see we have room for a forward-facing radar/chartplotter and then instruments to starboard. Above the radar will be dedicated bookshelf space for pilot books, cruising guides, etc.
This is the last piece of the puzzle and I'm confident (as Bob has said from Day 1!) that this will be the most-used space on the entire boat. Very happy to have figured that out at this stage!
