Join ISBJØRN in Bergen, Norway, for a spring crossing of the North Sea! We’ll start the journey in the heart of the city, and set sail westward for the gorgeous islands of the Norwegian Sea, just like the Vikings did a thousand years ago. We’ll have some great cruising options for our passage with a stop along the way depending on our weather strategy. We’ll continue on north and westwards until enormous cliffs rise out of the ocean, swaddled by waterfalls and puffins. Welcome to the mystical Faroe Islands.

#2 ISBJØRN | Faroe Islands – Lofoten

Want to visit the quaintest harbor in Europe, but uncertain if that means going to Lofoten or Torshavn? Join this epic sail and find out for yourself! A proper offshore passage, we will also cross the North Sea and the Arctic Circle! There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about weather routing and passage strategy, as finding the perfect window for the crossing will require some skill. For this reason, the trip is set for 16 days, giving us some weather flexibility. The crossing itself will most likely take around a week.

#3 ISBJØRN | Lofoten – Flåm

The Ultimate Norway experience! Join ISBJØRN in one of the stunning towns in Lofoten and sail south, across the Arctic Circle, and along one of the most beautiful coastlines on the planet. The trip will likely be a mix of daysails between picturesque island harbors and longer, offshore hops when the wind is particularly favorable.
We’ll sail up Sognefjord, the longest fjord in the world, to Aurlandsfjord and the port of Flåm. From there you will take one of the steepest trains in the world to connect to Oslo or Bergen.

#4 ISBJØRN | Flåm – Bergen

Join us in Flåm by taking one of the steepest train rides in the world to the longest fjord in the world! We’ll sail west through the Sognefjord, exploring as we go. Once out in the coastal waters, we’ll turn south for Bergen.

#5 ISBJØRN | Shetland Race | Bergen – Shetland – Bergen

Join us for the Shetland Race and set sail across the North Sea! This is an offshore yacht race between Bergen and Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Islands in Scotland. The race is sailed in two legs – Bergen to Lerwick for the first leg, then the return for the second leg with a few days in between for celebrations, recovery and exploring the Shetland Islands.

#5A ISBJØRN | Sea Trials

This trip is a mid-season sea trial placed within one of Isbjørn’s maintenance periods, and is an opportunity to experience 59 North behind the scenes. It is only available to returning 59 North Crew. The itinerary will be decided by the weather and the Skipper in the moment. It will likely consist of sailing by day and picturesque harbours by night for the most part, but will likely include a longer offshore stretch and some overnight sailing too. Like in our popular Sail Training Camps, you’ll aim to go through ISBJØRN’s entire repetoire.

#6 ISBJØRN | Bergen – Aberdeen | ALL WOMEN passage

Meet ISBJØRN in her home port of Bergen to set sail across the North Sea on her very first All-Women’s passage! Expect to make a stop before reaching Aberdeen as long as conditions allow. Aberdeen, on the east coast of Scotland, is one of the host cities of the Tall Ships Races 2025! Plan on staying here for a few days to witness this wondrous event, and to step aboard some historic tall ships.

#7 ISBJØRN | Aberdeen – Kristiansand

Aberdeen is one of the ports hosting the Tall Ships Races 2025, and ISBJØRN will be surrounded by a fleet of incredible, historic ships. The Race event in town starts on July 19, and it’s highly recommended that you arrive early and get to experience the event before joining ISBJØRN.
While not part of the race event, ISBJØRN will depart with the fleet on July 22 to tag along and follow the fleet across the North Sea to Kristiansand, the tall ships’ next port of call.

#8 ISBJØRN | Kristiansand – Bergen

Kristiansand is one of the ports hosting the Tall Ships Races 2025, and ISBJØRN will be surrounded by a fleet of incredible ships. While not part of the race event, ISBJØRN will depart with the fleet on August 2. Being out there on the water surrounded by tall ships setting their sails and singing their shanties will be an epic start to the trip.

#9 ISBJØRN | Bergen – Oban

Hone your axe, don your helmet, and follow the viking legends of old from Norway across the North Sea! Sail into never ending sunsets, past massive, burning oil rigs, across the prime meridian, and arrive in one of the prettiest towns in all of Scotland. Maybe you’ll get to see the Orkneys, the Herbredies, or the mystical Fair Isle!

Join us in Bergen, Norway to embark on ISBJØRN for the Shetland Race and set sail across the North Sea. This is an offshore yacht race between Bergen in the Vestland region of western Norway and Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Islands in Scotland. The origin of the event celebrates the heroic, maritime traffic between Bergen and Shetland during WWII, when local sailors and fishermen smuggled agents and weapons across the North Sea to conduct secret, Allied operations inside of Nazi-occupied Norway. The race is sailed in two legs: Bergen to Lerwick for the first leg, then the return for the second leg with a few days in between for partying and exploring the Shetland Islands.

ISBJØRN is going to sail to the point of greatest eclipse for the Total Solar Eclipse of August 12, 2026! This is the point which will have the longest duration of totality. Experience this unique once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon in the coolest possible location!
ISBJØRN will start in Reykjavik, then sail for 65°10.3' N 25°12.3' W to experience the eclipse, and then head to Stornaway, Ireland. Book your flights early! The eclipse will be visible from the mainland of Iceland as well (although much reduced) and there will probably be tons of people coming to see it.

Stornoway is just as epic as it sounds, and the perfect place to start any sailing adventure. And, it is right in the middle of the gorgeous Scottish Hebrides! After sailing south through the islands, we’ll have a tough weather decision—either to tackle the Irish Sea or make a right turn around the west coast of Ireland. End in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, where the start of the Golden Globe Race is just a few days away!

Welcome to Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, and the spectacle of the Golden Globe Race! No better way to get pumped for a sailing trip! Check out the boats, listen to seminars, and line the famous breakwater to give the fleet a proper send-off as they leave to circumnavigate the globe!
When the last competitor has left, most spectators will no doubt feel a bit empty and numb inside wishing they could follow the adventurers over the horizon. But not you. You will be joining ISBJØRN, and sail out through that same harbor entrance just a few days later! Our trip will take us north and east, en route for Bergen, ISBJØRN's homeport and one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
